The mission of the Comité Georges Rouault, a board of experts appointed for their knowledge of the works and techniques of the artist, is to provide its expertise for the authentication of works and to deliver certificates of authenticity.
- The certificate of authenticity is a unique official document attesting to the authenticity of a work, i.e. it was created by the artist. This certificate facilitates the sale of the object on the art market, having had its legitimacy guaranteed.
- This assessment follows a strict standardised procedure and requires the physical examination of a work. Based on the elements supplied and the analysis of the work, the Committee delivers an attestation detailing the outcome of these investigations.
